Construction Soon Starting on Area 48

Renovations on Area 48, which serves the Ruppert Health Center on The University of Toledo Health Science Campus, will begin on Tuesday, September 6.

The surface lot will be reconstructed from the ground up in three construction phases. Weather permitting, the parking area will reopen in late October.

During construction, the open section of Area 48 will be for patient parking only – staff will not be permitted to park in Area 48. All staff is encouraged to park in Area 43 or Area 46 throughout the duration of the construction project in Area 48.

Phase 1: Tentatively September 6th-26th

The East Vehicle Entrance off of Health Center Drive will be closed during Phase 1.

In the first phase of construction, The South (Door #5) entrance along with Door #3 & Door #4 (building exits) are to be used as emergency exits only.

The North (Door #1), East (Door #2) building entrances and Door #8 (building exits) will remain open during phase 1.

The West building entrance (Door #7) will remain unaffected during the construction project.

There will be a walking path (indicated in blue in above image) open during each phase of construction.

Phase 2A: Tentatively September 27th – October 7th

The second phase of construction will tentatively begin the last week of September.

While the North (Door #1) and East (Door #2) building entrances will remain open during phase 2A, the North (Door #1) building entrance will be utilized for pickup and dropoff only.

During phase 2A, the South (Door #5) entrance along with Door #3 & Door #4 (building exits) will reopen.

The East Vehicle Entrance off of Health Center Drive will also reopen.

The West building entrance (Door #7) will remain unaffected during the construction project.

There will be a walking path (indicated in blue in above image) open during each phase of construction.

 Phase 2B: Tentatively October 8th-21st

The renovation project will tentatively shift to phase 2B the second full week of October.

The North Vehicle Entrance off of Transverse Drive will be closed during phase 2B.

The North (Door #1) building entrance will also close during phase 2B.

All ambulances and transport vehicles will be directed to the East (Door #2) entrance for emergency calls entering the parking area from the East Vehicle Entrance off of Health Center Drive.

Door #8 (building exit) is to be used as an emergency exit only.

During phase 2B, the South (Door #5) entrance along with Door #3 & Door #4 will remain open.

The West building entrance (Door #7) will remain unaffected during the construction project.

All Ruppert Health Center staff are encouraged to park in Area 43, during construction all open spaces in Area 48 are reserved for patients.

Please remember all vehicles on campus must be registered with a permit purchased online in advance or by utilizing the ParkMobile App or a parking meter when visiting campus.

Updated parking policies and procedures do have parking permits enforced between semesters, during academic breaks and on weekends.

  • Saturday & Sunday 9AM-5PM

On weekdays from 5PM-7AM and on Saturdays & Sundays, active permits may park in areas designated for other permits. Exceptions include: reserved, disabled, metered, patient and no overnight parking areas.

Permit Holder Info for Football Game Days

This fall, The University of Toledo football team is scheduled to host six home football games at the Glass Bowl. Permit holders will be affected on game days, please refer to the information below and be sure to move all vehicles from the listed parking areas by the designated times.   • Area 3
    • On game days, all vehicles must be moved out of Area 3 by 12pm for evening kick-offs (6pm or later), vehicles must be moved by 6am for early afternoon kick-offs.
  • Area 4
    • On game days, all vehicles must be moved out of Area 4 by 12pm for evening kick-offs (6pm or later), vehicles must be moved by 6am for early afternoon kick-offs.
  • Area 5
    • On game days, all vehicles must be moved out of Area 5 by 12pm for evening kick-offs (6pm or later), vehicles must be moved by 6am for early afternoon kick-offs.
  • Area 6
    • All vehicles must be moved out of Area 6 by 6am on game days.
  • Area 9
    • All vehicles must be moved out of Area 9 by 3am on game days. Vehicles not moved by 3am will be towed.
  • Area 10
    • All vehicles must be moved out of Area 10 by 6am on Saturday game days, three hours prior to kick-off on weekday games (with the exception of the first game of the season – details listed below).
  • Area 18
    • Seven hours prior to kick-off Area 18 shifts to disabled parking – all other vehicles must be moved out of the parking lot.
  • Area 28
    • Four hours prior to kick-off Area 28 shifts to pass only parking – all other vehicles must be moved out of the parking lot.
The University of Toledo works with ABCO (419-536-6123) & Throne’s (419-473-3051) to tow vehicles from specified parking areas on game days. ParkUToledo is not part of the towing process. Student Semester Permits on Sale August 12

Student semester parking permits for the 2022-23 school year will be available for purchase in your parking portal starting Friday, August 12, 2022.

Student permits are $133 per semester, with the option to purchase a fall/spring semester permit for $266.

Daily and monthly permits are also available for purchase in your parking portal.

Important Parking Information

As we begin a new school year here are some helpful hints to remember when parking on campus at The University of Toledo:

  • Your license plate serves as your permit. If you change vehicles, update your plate information in your parking portal.
  • Only park in spaces designated for your specific permit; each parking area has signs indicating which permits are valid.
  • Park with your license plate facing the drive aisle – if you don’t have a front license plate, you can’t pull through or back into a parking space.
  • All vehicles must be parked in a lined parking space.
  • Spaces marked with gold/yellow markings are reserved for faculty & staff “A” permits.
  • Spaces marked with green markings are reserved for patient parking.
  • Family, friends and additional visitors can park in most areas by using the ParkMobile App. Hourly parking is also available for purchase at metered spots.

ParkUToledo will not be enforcing permits from August 20-28, 2022, for campus move in.

All other violations (reserved, disabled, metered, patient and no overnight parking areas) will be enforced. Vehicles must be parked in lined spaces or a marked 15 minute parking zone.

 Regular permit enforcement hours will resume on Monday, August 29, 2022.
