Area 18 & 18S Summer Construction Project

This summer, Area 18 (located North of the Computer Center, near the Student Recreation Center) will close in phases, starting at 6PM on Sunday, May 7th.

During construction, employees and students are encouraged to park as their permits allow in the open section of Area 18 or Areas 8, 9, 19 and 20. Please refer to the light post signs or line colors (yellow or white painted lines) as a secondary reference.

Area 18 Phases

Phase 1 (tentatively May 7th – June 18th)

All vehicles must be moved out of Phase 1, the East side of Area 18 (see image below), by 6pm on Sunday, May 7th.

18S phase 1

Weather permitting, Phase 1 will be closed from May 7th, until June 18th.

Phase 2 (tentatively June 19th – August 4th)

The construction project in Area 18 will tentatively shift to Phase 2 on Monday, June 19th.

All vehicles must be moved out of Phase 2, the West side of Area 18 (see image below), by 6pm on Sunday, June 18th.

18S phase 2

Weather permitting, Area 18 will reopen in early August.

Phase 18S (tentatively July 15th-16th & July 22nd-23rd)

Area 18S (located just South of the Computer Center) will be closed for construction for two weekends in July.

Weather permitting, Area 18S will close on Friday, July 14th at 6PM and reopen on Monday, July 17th.

It will then close again, the following weekend, starting at 6PM on Friday, July 21st and reopen on Monday, July 24th.

Unless explicitly stated in the article above, please remember all vehicles on campus must be registered with a permit purchased online in advance or by utilizing the ParkMobile App or a parking meter when visiting campus.

Updated parking policies and procedures do have parking permits enforced between semesters, during academic breaks and on weekends.

Permit Enforcement Hours:
Monday through Friday 7AM-10PM
Saturday & Sunday 9AM-5PM

On weekdays from 5PM-7AM and on Saturdays & Sundays, active permits may park in areas designated for other permits. Exceptions include: reserved, disabled, metered, patient and no overnight parking spaces/areas.

Area 43 Closing in Phases

Area 43, located South of the Health Education Building – just South of Transverse Drive between Health Center Drive and E. Medical Loop, will be closed this summer to undergo a complete renovation.

The area will be closed in phases starting Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 6PM.

During construction, employees and students are encouraged to park as their permits allow in the open section of Area 43 or Areas 42, 44 and 46. Please refer to the light post signs or line colors (yellow or white painted lines) as a secondary reference – green lined spaces are reserved for patient parking only.
